ABOUT KINESIOLOGY & WHAT TO EXPECT
WHAT IS KINESIOLOGY?
Systematic Kinesiology assesses muscle strength & weakness to communicate with the body. Scientifically this is known as bio-feedback.
The biofeedback from muscle response tells us exactly what the body needs to be able to repair itself.

Kinesiologists, work with muscles and meridians to determine the underlying cause of a problem.
Each muscle is related to a meridian and an organ.
By cross referencing these and other points on the body, we can determine what the body needs to heal.
When the body is in balance - It’s a perfectly calibrated machine that functions at its optimum level!

THE PROBLEM
In this modern world, our body has to battle with energies and situations that it was never designed for.
Technology, food and lifestyle has changed considerably over the past 100 years - but our bodys’ are still of the same design.

Our fight or flight response was intended to help us in occasional life threatening situations, our brains would trigger the release of
hormones to enable us to run, or defend ourselves from something that’s threatening our existence:
We still respond in the same way but the triggers are much more frequent, thus 'stressing' the body!

Our body responds to these ‘stressors’ in order to protect itself.
It remembers its reaction, repeating it the next time it experiences a similar situation.
Constantly being ‘hit’ by these stressors, and continually trying to protect itself, our body becomes over-loaded.
Struggling to re-balance itself, over compensations are made elsewhere.
These compensations cause imbalance and energy blocks, and we develop health problems - aches, pains, illnesses and eventually disease.

Fortunately, the bodys’ ability to heal itself is magical, give it the right tools and we can recover!
TREATING THE BODY AS A 'WHOLE'
Pharmaceutical medication has become a first port of call for most, this type of 'treatment' targets the symptom rather than the cause.

We take a pill to mask the pain or symptom, the medication has a side effect causing another symptom,
we take another tablet to mask that symptom which causes another side effect and so on.......

A 'symptom' is your body telling you that something is not working properly and needs help to repair itself.

'Prevention is better than cure!'
Kinesiology looks deeper than the symptom - It is important that we take notice of our body and listen when it is giving us signs.
It is when we ignore these signs and continue to overload or 'stress' our system, that more serious health problems occur!
If we treat the symptoms at the root cause, as and when they appear, they may never turn into a more serious concern.

When we catch a symptom early, find the ‘stressor’ and give it what it needs, we can restore balance and ‘heal’.
We are aware that everything is connected, and we look at all aspects of function;
Nutritional, Mental, Emotional, Electrical as well as the Physical.
THE TREATMENT
What to Expect
The treatment is performed fully clothed.
Throughout the treatment I shall be testing muscles for strength & weakness,
touching specific points and rubbing specific areas of the body.
There may be times of massage when it would be beneficial to move or remove an item of clothing to improve pressure and access to the area, I will always ask your permission before hand. Some massage points may be quite sore.
(Please note, I have been a massage therapist for 20 years so am experienced in massage techniques and protocol).
I encourage communication throughout a session and ask the client to relay any sensations, reffered pain emotions etc. that they may experience during the treatment.
You will be asked to move into various positions for muscle testing
Other elements will include energy work similar to reiki tecniques, running meridians and moving energy flow, testing food and supplements, tapping techniques, emotional release, affirmations, manipulations and more.

What Should I Wear?
Comfortable, soft and flexible clothing.
Avoid Knitwear
Avoid jeans
Avoid items with too many zips, buttons or pockets if possible
Women - please wear a soft bra with no underwires or padding.
Please wear clean socks (or bring a spare pair with you) as I shall need to access your feet.
Remove any jewellery, watches or crystals.

Anything Else?
Please ensure that your phone is away from you and on silent.
Bring any foods that you would like to test
Bring any supplements or medications that you are taking.
Although I offer various treatment options, we don’t know exactly how the session will go until you arrive and I have investigated -
the body will tell me what it wants so please be open to change.
Magnets may be used in some cases, always inform me if you have a pacemaker!

Session times may vary, please allow 1.5 hours for your first session which includes a thorough consultation,
following treatments should take 1 hour but please allow a little extra just in case things run over.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?
The number of sessions will depend on the severity of the complaint, how long you’ve had it and your general over-all health.
Many concerns can be fixed after one session, others may take longer.
The speed and degree of treatment results also depends on the client following through with aftercare advise and lifestyle changes.

Think of it like peeling an onion, there are layers and layers that have been built up over your lifetime -
we may need to ‘peel back’ the first layer to get to the next layer and so on.

As a general rule, I would initially recommend a minimum of 3 sessions 2 weeks apart.
A healthy person with no major ailments would benefit from monthly sessions to keep the body in balance
and the energy flowing correctly.
